Unlike its gas-powered siblings, the 2022 BMW I4 Grand Coupe is equipped with one or two electric motors depending on the model you select. The system feeds electrons to either one of these motors, helping it propel the I4. the single motor eDrive40 produces 335 horsepower, while the M50 has an electric motor on both axles. Its all-wheel drive setup boasts 536 horsepower and 586 pound-feet of torque. Acceleration times are mind-boggling, with an approximate run to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds.
BMW states that the single motor eDrive40 has the ability to travel up to 500 kilometres on a full charge. The all-wheel drive dual-motor M50 features the same 80.7-kWh battery and claims an approximate 395 kilometres range. The I4 is also said to have a charging capacity of 200 kW and can charge between 140 and 175 kilometres in just 10 minutes. By utilizing the level 2 onboard charger, the i4 can charge the battery from zero to 100% in under 8 hours.

The exterior design of the BMW i4 is unmistakably BMW with its unique front fascia that features the new vertical kidney grilles. Unlike the gas-powered version, the i4 reduces the number of creases and vents to better utilize its aerodynamics and maximize range and efficiency. The side profile is similar to the regular 4-series, and the rear is different, mainly because there are no exhaust tips coming out of the rear fascia.
Step inside and find a richly appointed cabin with available rose gold trim, white leather upholstery, and wood trim. The interior design is similar to the regular 4-series; however, it is the first to have a massive, seamless display that almost takes up 2/3 of the dashboard.
